Lucite prisms, debris, kinetic steel, reflections on rubble

My apartment had a clear and unobstructed view of the World Trade Center.
Painfully and shocked, I watched it fall. I phoned family members, loved ones,
friends and an unnamed reporter at CBS News Radio. My son Jeff's
class saw the South Tower collapse. I walked to his school passing hundreds of
people in the street. When the North Tower fell, he couldn't look.
The red dust that formed on our window was finally washed away in December.
The smell lingered.
My "Fountain of Light" is a visual attempt to resolve the events of September 11 th .
Two polished prisms represent the union of the spirit and energy of the people
whose lives ended in this catastrophe with the imposing form of the unforgettable
structure. Gentle air currents create random movement of the steel amongst the
debris.
